In the pursuit of peace we follow our hearts, yet in the name of the same pursuit we divide and exclude, overpower, violate and abandon. Our selves and others.

The heart of the shaman is an open-eyed venture into humanity, into the attempt to be better and do better not by ignoring what is, not by ignoring the shadow, instead – by owning up, taking responsibility; by choosing love.

Following this year’s dramatic events – the workshop, the terrorist attack, deaths and wounded, and the loss of Johan, the community that formed thereafter, we wish to make a conscious choice in voyaging, as safely as we can, into the dimensions of spirit. When we appropriately remember what we came here to do, when we are able to serve this purpose ethically, openly and – most importantly – with an open heart, perhaps we stand a chance of contributing to a better world.

During the three days of our 2017 workshop, we shall work more explicitly with trance by calling upon shamanic traditions, working with power animals and sacred beings, exploring the shadowy aspects of surrendering to spirit and examining ways in which such work can improve the lives of those we work with, as well as our own. We shall seek to identify our northern starts, and make a commitment to follow them: as individuals, as a community, and as a part of something greater than both.

For all people working with people, such as coaches, group facilitators, leaders, managers, teachers, therapists, social workers, bodyworkers, healers, artists… For those who wish to strengthen their presence in the world by unfolding and expressing the forces in themselves.
