What to do
The castle grounds
The country homes are in our protected, 23-hectare park. This park is managed using an ecological and sustainable approach and is home to centuries-old trees, a range of rare plants, all kinds of animals and a few magical places just waiting for you to discover them. Enjoy the beauty in silence ...
This region, known as the Hageland, is known for its fruit, as well as the many walking, cycling and mountain-biking trails that criss-cross it. And no wonder: the hilly landscape is a fantastic place to go for an outdoor excursion, with plenty of beautiful panoramic views, empty roads, orchards, fields and meadows, all punctuated with medieval castles. From De Heerlijckhyt, you can make a direct connection with the walking and cycling paths of the Gete valley. You’ll find walking and cycling maps in the country houses for inspiration and navigation.
There are bicycles available for hire at De Heerlijckhyt. We charge €7/hour per bike and reservations are required. Your bike will be delivered to your country home. Put your own cycling route together at www.fietsnet.be. We are to be found near Halen at ‘Knooppunt 352’
When it comes to culture, history or nature, there is plenty to experience in this area.
